Allures

Belson thought of Allures as “being a combination of molecular structures and astronomical events mixed with subconscious and subjective phenomena – all happening simultaneously and seeming to move from matter to spirit in some way”. Among the variety of analog imagery used are several shots from interference pattern footage which Belson created and used in the legendary Vortex Concerts in San Francisco’s Morrison Planetarium (1957-59). – CVM

Samadhi

Samadhi evokes the ecstatic state achieved by the meditator where individual consciousness merges with the Universal. Belson had hoped that the film, primarily an abstract cinematic work inspired by Yoga and Buddhism, could actually provide a taste of what the real experience of Samadhi might be.
